If you have never been to Northumberland then you should try and go sometime, it's so beautiful. Rolling countryside, big vistas & endless coastlines... also happens to be where I grew up!
And if you need somewhere to stay, then I really recommend: Stay On The Hill, which comprises of The Coach House (four beautifully decorated ensuite bedrooms on a private family owned estate), the recently refurbished three-bedroom Laverick Cottage, and one-bedroom Bothy, all of which sit on a hill, overlooking the River Tyne with fabulous views across the local countryside. The cottages have private gardens and offer guests peace and tranquillity in a self-catering environment. They are absolutely stunning & so comfortable too.
So much to do in Northumberland, from walking to cycling, from kayaking to surfing and so much more besides! And so many sights to see, including Bamburgh Castle, Hadrians Wall, Kielder Water and Alnwick Gardens. For more info see: https://www.stayonthehill.co.uk/explore/
Owners and hosts James and Emma Middleton couldn't be more friendly or helpful too! For more find them on Instgram: @stay_onthehill
They are currently running a drawing competition too! Just send them your drawing of your favourite place or view in Northumberland and win a drawing from local Artist Michael Ewart and the opportunity to have your masterpiece framed in one of their cottages!
